Q & A

Garage Door Opener Remote Controls In Cincinnati

By Steve Penn

Yes, we carry remotes for most garage door openers that are used on homes and businesses in the area.

If you need a new remote, give us a call at (513) 821-5095.

We’ll even program it for you.  Doesn’t take us but a minute.

Or you can pick one up at our showroom at 11 Techview Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45215.  Give us a call first so we can get the manufacturers information from you before you drive over to see us – we want to make sure we have the remote you need in stock.

The Garage Door At My Home In Cincinnati Will Not Open Even Though The Door Has A Battery Backup

By Steve Penn

The battery back-up system is a great feature, but it can give you a false sense of security.

If the door is not opening during a power failure, typically the main culprit is that the battery is no good. They only last 2-3 years, even if they are not used.

Yet power outages are not the only reason your door may not open on some days. Many times we are called to a home in the Cincinnati area where the homeowner believes it’s an issue with the battery-backup, but it turns out to be a broken spring, a broken cable, a bad gear or an electronic problem.

If you have any issues with your garage door openers, give us a call at (513) 821-5095.  We’re available 6 days week to help.

Why Are Some Of The Bolts On My Garage Door Red?

By Steve Penn

Red bolts are a warning that they are under tension, either from the springs or the cables.

DO NOT remove these bolts unless you are a professional. If a spring or cable on the garage door is released because a red bolt was loosened or removed, you can be struck and seriously injured.

If you live in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky and are having an issue with your garage door or opener, give us a call at (513) 821-5095.

Custom Size or Unique Size Garage Doors In Cincinnati

By Steve Penn

What would be considered custom or unique garage door sizes on many homes in Cincinnati are not an issue. Our doors come in width increments of 2″ and height increments of 3″.

We can get a door either 14’10” or 15’0″ wide. Usually one of those would work perfectly.

The additional 1/2″ on either side would just overlap the opening on each side and the difference at the top and bottom would be covered with normal weather stripping.

The bottom line is this – whatever garage door opening you have, we have a door to fit.

How Do I Program The Remote In My Car To The Garage Door Opener?

By Steve Penn

ll remotes have their own coding and re-coding procedures. If you do not have the instructions, and live in the Greater Cincinnati area, you can call us and describe the unit. We can usually help you with that.

We will need to know the make and model of the remote and opener. It is usually pretty easy to do if you have the right information.

Do We Repair Windows?

By Steve Penn

We do repair windows that we have installed. However, other brands have specific parts that we would not carry or have access to, so we are not able to repair those.
