Some manufacturers sell insulation kits for garage doors, but not many. In other instances, foam panels can be added to the inside of the door.
Unfortunately, neither of these options are as good as having an insulated door installed initially, because the cost of insulating an existing door is high and it is a time-consuming project to get it right.
If it is a pre-painted steel or aluminum covered garage door, a mild cleaner will usually do the trick. The finish on these is much like on a car – just a little soap and water and hose it off when finished.
Never use abrasives or harsh chemicals.
Wood doors can be a little trickier. Just use water and don’t rub too hard as you can embed the dirt into the wood.
