Here’s all you need to do.

If you are a DIYer, you can stop by with a sample of the weather stripping and the width of the doors.

Or, if you want us to take care of it, you can send a picture with a cross section view and we can verify what type you have. Then we can make arrangements to stop by for a service visit.

Unplugging the garage door opener should really have no impact on the door staying closed or not. Plugging it back in is simply powering the unit back-up.

If it’s winter time, check for ice or snow build-up on the ground. Sometimes that will trip the safety system and the door will retract.

If this occurs in the spring, summer or fall, do two things.

If you have the safety system installed (the beam of light on each side of the door near the floor) make sure they are aligned and match, usually giving a green indicator.

Next, if the manual is available, check for adjustments that can be made rather quickly on the opener.
