Unless you are installing the exact same garage door, it is definitely best. Although the tracks may look similar, the tracks are designed to hold the weight of a specific door in the up position.
If the new sections weigh more, you could have a problem. Also, doors come in different thicknesses which will change the setback distance for the track from the wall when it is down.
Too much offset and you get a lot of air leaks.
Too little offset and the door may wedge between the wall and the track.
The bottom line is this, if you’re getting a new garage door installed, have the tracks replaced as well.
