Entry Doors & Patio Doors For Your Home In The Greater Cincinnati Area

We Offer The Best at Affordable Prices

Replacing your exterior doors is a project that can pay for itself for years to come.  New doors can increase your home’s value by adding curb appeal, sightlines, and energy efficiency

  • Pella Entry Doors
  • ProVia Entry Doors – the best doors you’ve never heard of.
  • Therma-Tru Doors

As with any project, quality and price are always a consideration.  As we all know, “cheapest” is usually not the best option.  Low-end entry doors are not designed to hold up to the weather and usage needs of most families.

Today’s entry doors come in many different materials, styles and finishes.  There are also many glass options available to add curb appeal and light to you entryways.

Some other things to consider when buying an entry door are security, swing, and hardware.

Front Door Materials:

Steel

Steel is a good option if you are looking for a solid color door.  It is the most economical option and they work well in all climates as they do not shrink, or swell with the weather conditions like a wood door.

Our Provia 20 gauge steel entry doors are almost twice as thick as most of the competitor 24 gauge, and 26 gauge steel.  This makes them much tougher and dent resistant than the competition.  Provia’s steel doors are made from galvanized steel, so they won’t rust, and are filled with premium polyurethane insulation that has an r-value of 15.  They are factory painted in a variety of colors and carry a 7 year finish warranty-the best in the industry.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass doors come in both smooth and wood grain textures.  The wood grain products can be stained or painted to achieve the look and feel of real wood, and are much less upkeep and maintenance.  Like steel doors they do not shrink or swell with the weather.

Be careful when shopping for fiberglass doors.  Low-end fiberglass can easily warp and crack, and a low end manufacturing process with poor grain simulation can make a stained door look really bad.

Our Provia fiberglass doors are constructed with the thickest fiberglass shell in the business.  They also offer the most realistic grains around.  Combine that with the factory staining and up to a 10 year finish warranty and you have a beautiful door that will look, and function great for years.

Just like the Provia’s steel doors, the fiberglass doors are insulated with premium polyurethane and provide an r-value of 15 for maximum energy efficiency.

Wood

Wood doors are beautiful, expensive, and require a lot of upkeep.  We do not recommend wood doors for use in our climate due to the ever changing weather conditions.  They swell in the hot humid summers, and they shrink in the cold dry winters.  Over just a few years this will cause wood door finishes to fail and the door itself to warp and even crack, and lock hardware will not line up properly.  Wood doors are not as energy efficient as the other options either.  Most wood doors have an r-value of around 2, and they just don’t seal very well as they expand and contract.

Many homeowners try to add to their energy efficiency by adding a storm door, but this can create a lot of heat between the doors further damaging the wood door.

Styles and Finish:

Exterior doors are available in many different designs, colors, and stains.  There is also a wide selection of glass shapes and options- decorative, clear, blinds between the glass, and privacy glass.  You can really come up with a unique look that fits your needs for light, privacy and energy efficiency.  All of our glass options are double or triple pane to maintain energy efficiency.

Our Provia entry doors can be further enhanced with decorative locksets, kick plates and knockers all available in 4 different factory finishes.

Durability

All doors are NOT created equal.  While many doors may look the same, there can be a huge difference in quality and durability.

We often see doors that are only a few years old with frames rotting and splitting and paint peeling.  Cheap wood just does not hold up in our climate, and it doesn’t hold paint very well either.   We also frequently see fogged up windows with bad seals, and window frames in doors and sidelites that are cracked and have adhesives oozing out of them.  Cheap frames and adhesives do not hold up to the heat, and will quickly deteriorate in our hot summer months.

Door hardware is NOT all created equal either.  Low-end doors often come with low-end hardware.  Low end hardware will quickly pit and rust and just look awful. Cheap hinges will pull out of the frame or bend leaving the door out of alignment and difficult to operate.   Low end locksets can become very difficult to use the locks and compromise security as well.

Those are the reasons why we use Provia Doors.  We don’t have to worry about any of that stuff.  All of our exterior frames and brickmold is premium treated lumber and it is all clad with PVC vinyl coated aluminum-so there is no wood exposed to the elements.  Provia uses high performance window frames, and adhesives that are warranted not to warp crack or peel away from the door.  All of Provia’s energy efficient ComforTech glazing system carries a lifetime warranty against seal failure.

Provia locksets and hardware are all high quality as well.  The doors come with Commercial grade ball bearing hinges to insure smooth operation.  The Schlage and Emtek locks provided and decorative hardware carry a 10 year or lifetime finish warranty.  So you can count on long lasting performance and appearance.

Security

Unfortunately it is a statistical fact that most home invasions are perpetrated by door “kick-ins”.   An inexpensive door is not going to do much to keep the bad guys out.  Our Provia doors all come standard with a 20 gauge steel lock plate built right into the frame making it almost impossible to kick in.  Combined with our 20 gauge steel door construction these doors are among the most secure available on the market today.  We even offer a shatter resistant glass package for those who desire some light in their entryways why maintaining security.

The bottom line on entry doors-You get what you pay for!
